Karen Hirschkorn, NPP

 

I have been practicing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 1996. I have worked with diverse populations-with people from childhood to adulthood-providing care with compassion, commitment and the best evidence-based practices research has to offer. I currently am in full-time private practice servicing children, adolescents and adults in a wonderful office situated right on Central Park South. I provide psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy to individuals, family therapy and psychopharmacology management. My specialty is working with adolescents, adults and their families using a relational approach and a cognitive behavioral model. I treat patients with various disorders inclusive of Depression, ADHD, Eating Disorders and Anxiety Disorders.

 

Though the work I do with patients is serious and can be at times intense and painful, my combined approach is with humor, kindness and compassion. My outcomes with patients are successful - providing them with symptom relief and increased self-awareness.
